DJ Furniture
Ok, so it’s not really Club Wear but Gizmodo has blogged some excellent DJ furniture recently that’s just too good not to comment on.
Dual has some smooth suspended deck stands/tables they rather morbidly call The Floating Coffin. Hanging by steel cables it saves space and reduces sound feedback. It has 2 rather obvious draw backs though. I can’t see it surviving anything more boisterous than a chillout evening without being knocked so much your precious vinyl gets scratched to oblivion. And I can’t see many girls coming back to your place to “see the floating coffin in my living room”. Prices seem to start from about $700 (about £370ish)
Looking more like a 1960s escape from some kind of genetic experiment is the DJ Kreemy Turntable Table. It has built in power cabling and lighting but, in the pictures where it’s shown in use, looks like its set a little low. A protracted session on a table at that height is likely to result in backache for anyone of average height or above. Still, who cares? It looks the mutts nuts. It’s a bit pricey though at over $3,500 (£1,900).
Last but not least comes this excellent DJ table spotted at the Milan Furniture Fair. This one’s probably my favourite but there’s no additional information on it.
